Privacy policy

MuslimWise is private by design: your prayer data stays on your device. This policy explains what is stored locally, the optional Apple features you can turn on, and the limited services we use.

1. Who we are

MuslimWise is a Muslim prayer companion for Apple platforms, developed and published by Collective Creation (the “we” in this policy). The public site and support email are listed on Collective Creation and in the app’s settings.

2. What MuslimWise is (and is not)

MuslimWise shows prayer times, lets you log your daily prayers (salah) into a growing garden, points you to the Qibla, tracks your streaks and journey, offers dua inspiration, and includes an optional gentle focus feature. It is a spiritual-habit aid, not a source of religious rulings and not a medical device.

3. Data stored on your device

The app keeps your information locally on your iPhone: prayer logs and times, your garden and streaks, reminder and calculation preferences, travel/care-day and sunnah settings, and dua reflections. This data stays on your device. We do not run a MuslimWise account and do not receive your prayer history.

4. Screen Time and the optional Guard

On supported devices, the optional “Guard” uses Apple’s Family Controls and Screen Time selection flow to gently pause the apps you choose until you have logged a prayer. The system stores an opaque token representing the apps you pick — MuslimWise never receives a readable list of your apps or browsing. Guard is off by default and authorization follows Apple’s Screen Time permission model.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules local prayer reminders on your device. These are generated on-device from your prayer times and reminder settings; no reminder content is sent to us.

6. Purchases

MuslimWise Pro is handled by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes the purchase and tells the app whether Pro is active so it can be restored across your devices. We do not receive your payment details. An optional free trial may precede the one-time purchase.

7. iCloud and Apple services

Where the app relies on Apple services (such as device backup or iCloud, if you use them), data is processed under Apple’s terms and your Apple ID. Only what a feature needs is involved, and you manage iCloud and backups in your Apple account settings.

8. Analytics

The app requires no account and is built to work without collecting personal information. This marketing website may use privacy-friendly product analytics (PostHog) to count pageviews and anonymous interactions so we can improve it; it does not identify you. See posthog.com/privacy. If we add analytics to the app or other vendors, we will name them here and update the date above.

9. This website

The site may log standard server or CDN data (for example IP address, user agent, and rough region) to operate and protect the service. Email you send to muslimwise@collectivecreation.company is used only to respond to you.

10. International users

If you use the app or site from outside the country where Collective Creation operates, your information may be processed in the United States and other regions where Apple and our infrastructure providers run systems.

11. Your choices

• All core data lives on your device — delete it by removing the app or using in-app controls where available.
• Turn the Guard / Screen Time feature on or off in Settings; manage Screen Time permissions in Apple Settings.
• Manage notification permissions in Apple Settings.
• Control iCloud and device backups in Apple Settings.

12. Regional rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because MuslimWise keeps your data on your device, most of these are exercised directly in the app; we will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.

13. Changes

We may update this policy when the product, Apple’s platforms, or the law changes. We will post the new date at the top and, for material changes, use reasonable means such as an in-app notice or website update.
